• Time For Some Bloggage!

Yeah, I know it's not a word but around here, that's how I roll. Welcome to the blog of Damion Dunlap, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Panama City Beach, FL. I'm a proud father of three who first started in photography to capture those special moments in the lives in my little people. I try my best to keep things simple yet elegant in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy.

Wedding: Lisa & Myron

I was so ecstatic to be shooting my very first Panama City wedding and it just put me over the top to be there to celebrate alongside a good friend from Tallahassee. Honestly, it was a bit much having back-to-back wedding weekends with a Ph.D. dissertation sandwiched between but it was all worth it. Lisa and Myron as well as their families are just overall cool people and it was a pleasure just to be in the building. If I recall correctly, these two love birds go back to high school and I don’t know if I’ve seen a groom so happy to be married as Myron was on that beautiful Saturday morning. Ok I’ll have to stop myself here and get to the images because I can go on and on. Enjoy!

Robin - Just checking out other local wedding photographers when I came across your great shots! I went to school with both Myron and Lisa (Lisa and I were in 5th grade together!) and am so thrilled to see their joyous faces in these photos! Beautiful work!

Wedding: Sam & Staci

Sam and Staci are a beautiful couple and it was an absolute joy to be their along with their great friends and family to celebrate the beginning of the next phase of their relationship. Ok, I don’t want to be a slacker but I’m between back-to-back weddings with a Ph.D. dissertation defense in the middle so I’m just going to get to the images.

Portraits: LaKia Morrison

I’ve had the privilege of knowing some pretty cool people in my days and LaKia definitely makes the list.  I’ve known LaKia from church at Truth Gatherers for a while now and I knew she could definitely preach the Word but had no idea that she was also an author and poet.  She has most recently authored her first book entitled “Can You Handle My Pears?.”  The book addresses the concept of discerning the purpose of relationship from a spiritual perspective.  From looking through the table of contents, it’s definitely looking like a good read.  Check out more about LaKia and her many endeavors at www.lakiamorrison.com.

Portfolio: Kids

Being a father of three myself, I love the little people.  Being able to capture those special stages in a child’s life, is what prompted me to get my first “real” camera.  As I look back through the images of my own little people, I realize how quickly they can change.  It seems like just yesterday my baby girl was being born and now she’s walking around, grabbing food off the table, and trying to climb everything within reach.  It is truly a joy to be able to photograph children in their element and see how something inside them lights up when the feel like they can let down their hair and just be themselves.

Gabrielle Bass - Nice! Welcome to Prophoto Blogs!

Portfolio: Portraits / Headshots

Honestly, I really love shooting weddings but I got my start doing portrait work.  It’s so funny, I think my lighting gear arrived at my house the day before my first shoot.  I had a vague absolutely no idea what I was doing at that point but the images came out pretty cool and I’ve tried to keep learning from there.  It’s nice to set up all the nifty studio equipment and try to create something special for someone.  I’ve had the opportunity to shoot everyone from aspiring actors and models, to media personalities, authors, engineers, poets, pastors, and even an elected official or two (my dad isn’t fond of the term politician for some reason).  I even threw in an image of my puppy (it’s a shot of his head so that counts) and your truly.

Portfolio: Weddings

Ok, I’m way past due for updated portfolios and after finally making myself sit down and put it together, I was amazed at how many images that I really loved that hadn’t made it to my portfolio.  I don’t think anyone noticed but I got really annoyed with the way my old portfolio was viewed on the site a few weeks ago when I was making a few changes, that I completely pulled the thing from the site.  Fortunately for me at least, I made the time to get it back up.  Keep a look out for a few more portfolios in the coming days.  Enjoy!
